Professor Layton and the New World of Steam Occurs 1 Year After Unwound Future; Setting & Cast Introduced

During their latest stream, LEVEL-5 introduced several aspects of Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.

Professor Layton and the New World of steam occurs one year after apprentice Luke Triton leaves for America (Unwound Future), though he later invites Layton to a place called Steam Bison within the country. Steam engine technology here has greatly surpassed London’s capabilities, but Luke informs Layton that a bizarre incident has taken place. When players solve puzzles throughout the game, it’s implied that the city will develop as a result of their actions.

While Layton is anonymous in America, Luke has solved various cases in the town, becoming known as Detective Luke. Yo Oizumi will return as Layton, and Mio Imada will be Luke’s new voice. The puzzles will be designed by QuizKnock. They have developed content for all sorts of media and will likely bring a unique experience to the table.

However, the title’s official website does contain a lite puzzle, where clicking on Layton’s silhouette grants the user two wallpapers in various resolutions for desktops, smartphones, and tablets.
