Qureate is packaging its lewd puzzle-escape series Prison Princess and Prison Princess: Trapped Allure into a single physical release titled Prison Princess + Prison Princess: Trapped Allure Collection, interestingly published by Arc System Works. While there’s no domestic release planned, the collection is available for import and includes full English text support from websites like PlayAsia. Orders are expected to ship starting June 26, 2025.
Originally released digitally on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, the Prison Princess games blend escape room mechanics with visual novel storytelling, mixing cheeky fanservice with light puzzle-solving. This physical version offers collectors a chance to own both entries in one package.
Ghostly Puzzles and Princess Peril
The original Prison Princess follows a fallen hero who returns as a spirit to guide two kidnapped princesses through the Demon King’s castle. Since he no longer has a body, all interaction is done through hints and guidance, with players solving puzzles across various rooms to help the duo escape. Multiple endings are determined by your choices and interactions along the way.
Trapped Allure, the sequel, picks up the concept with a new cast and larger scale. After yet another defeat at the hands of the Demon King, the spirit of the hero teams up with a new captive princess named Julietta. Together, they work to solve increasingly complex riddles and recover the hero’s scattered party members.
Both games lean heavily on suggestive situations and light-hearted humor, making them stand out among more traditional escape room games. Their simple mechanics are accessible, but the appeal lies in character interactions and the genre’s unabashed tone. There is a toggle in the options for a safe-for-work version of the game as well.
A Niche Find for Physical Collectors
This physical edition is a notable addition for fans of import gaming and physical media. Although Qureate hasn’t announced a Western release, full English text support ensures players won’t miss out on the story or puzzles regardless of region.
