Ubisoft has announced that their upcoming 2.5D action-adventure Prince of Persia The Lost Crown has gone gold. This means that development is complete, and all we have to do now is wait for the release. The team is now in the polishing phase, adjusting the title before its launch next month.
The tweet announcing this development is viewable below:
This entry seems heavily similar to the older Prince of Persia titles, featuring the new protagonist Sargon with 2.5D action, combat, puzzle solving, and platforming. Considering the state the Sands of Time Remake is in now, it’s definitely surprising to see a new original game suddenly announced. Still, we’re pretty excited, and we’ll be sure to update you all on any significant announcements.
Sargon is part of a group of warriors called The Immortals, assigned the task of rescuing Prince Ghassan. They explore Mount Qaf, which has recently become hostile, and they discover that time itself is a force to be reckoned with. The title will boast a soundtrack composed by the Iranian-born composer Mentrix alongside Gareth Coker.
Protagonist Sargon will also learn new abilities and equip amulets to boost said abilities and grant other perks. The number of amulets one can equip is limited, though.
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on January 18, 2024.
A free demo will launch on January 11, 2024.
