Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced that the GameCube RPG Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is now available on Switch 2 via the GameCube Classics app for Switch Online subscribers.
Initially released by developer Genius Sonority in 2005, this title is the successor to Pokémon Colosseum and has players focus on capturing Shadow Pokémon via the Snag Machine.
The story is set five years after the previous game’s events, focusing on the protagonist Michael, who is sent on a mission by Professor Krane to capture other trainers’ Pokémon and, hopefully, purify the corruption brought about by their shadow states. The title became pretty beloved for how unconventional it is compared to other console releases in the series, especially nowadays.
