Pokémon Smile is the Toothbrushing Game We Never Knew We Needed

During Nintendo’s latest Pokémon Presentation, the Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Smile, a mobile game meant to encourage children to brush their teeth.

The mobile game, available now on iOS and Android, takes place inside someone’s mouth as they brush their teeth. This is an exciting Pokémon game, however, so there also happen to be a bunch of Pokémon inside the mouth as well. By using your phone’s camera, Pokémon Smile gives players a time for how long they need to brush their teeth (as well as a cute Pokémon themed hat). If you brush your teeth well enough (whatever that means) you can catch a whole plethora of Pokémon.

Pokémon Smile is intended to, “turn a stressful time into a fun and exciting adventure.” If you happen to have small children in your life, this just might be the app that gets them to look forward to brushing their teeth. After all, they might just catch that Bulbasur they’ve been yearning after if they brush well enough.

Though this experience is definitely tailored for children, I know that I’ll be downloading it and trying to out for myself. The art style is incredibly cute and I’m always looking for an excuse to make my morning routine more interesting.

Pokémon Smile is available for download now on iOS and Android devices.
