Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Introduce Gimmighoul, the Coin Chest Pokémon
Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company have officially revealed a brand new Pokémon, set to debut in the Paldea region via Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
Called Gimmighoul, the Coin Chest Pokémon, it’s essentially a mimic from classic RPGs. They hide throughout the region, waiting for trainers to find them. However, it does have a second form called Roaming Form Gimmighoul, where it no longer hides from the confines of its treasure chest and fittingly roams around. Instead, it carries a coin upon its back, and apparently, no trainer has ever caught one since they always run away when approached.
The renders of Gimmighoul’s first and second forms are viewable below, with screenshots following afterward:
Two trailers have also been shared, viewable below:

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.
Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the titles debuting the franchise’s ninth generation alongside a brand new locale, the Paldea region. Taking inspiration from the last console release, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can look forward to exploring an ambitious open world where there is no set story order for gym progression. Here’s hoping these efforts manage to stick their long-desired landing.
