Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC ‘The Teal Mask’ Announces September 2023 Release Date; New DLC Details
During the latest Pokémon Presents broadcast, the Pokémon Company, Nintendo, and Game Freak announced that the first part of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet DLC, The Teal Mask, will launch for Nintendo Switch on September 13, 2023.
Players can anticipate new minigames, Pokémon, and activities to partake in, as well as plenty of new characters. Check out our previous coverage for more details on this DLC.
The Teal Mask will let players visit the land of Kitakami as part of a school trip beyond the Paldea region. In addition, a regularly held festival in the land will be conducted as players try to figure out the truth behind multiple folktales.
On the other hand, The Indigo Disk in Winter 2023 will have players study as an exchange student in Blueberry Academy. Cumulatively, over 230 Pokémon will return via both DLCs. The Teal Mask will feature new Pokémon Okidogi, Fezandipiti, Munkidori, and the new legendary Ogerpon.
In the Teal Mask, you can participate in a Kitakami activity that’s a tradition, Ogre Oustin’. It has you pop Ogre Balloons to collect Berries that are redeemed to earn mochi that raise Pokémon’s base stats. Alternatively, Fresh-Start Mochi will reset one’s base stats. Three-player co-op will be available for this activity both online and locally. You’ll also be helping a new character named Perrin with trying to photograph a certain Pokémon in the Timeless Woods.
During the Indigo Disk DLC, you challenge the BB (Blueberry Academy) League Elite Four and grow close to new characters in a club room. Additionally, you can spend “Blueberry Points (BP), a currency used within the academy,” to earn gifts, such as cosmetics, to decorate the League club room. Each BB League member has their own trial to pass to be able to battle them as well. Amarys, for example, initiates a flying challenge.
