Nintendo and Koei Tecmo have posted an extended trailer for the Expansion Pass for Pokémon Pokopia. The Bubbly Basin, the first part of the Pass, is detailed ahead of its August 5, 2026 release.
Manaphy teaches Ditto how to dive, enabling underwater exploration as part of the free portion of the update. Building is possible underwater, too.
The paid part of the update will implement Bubbly Basin, a new town area that can be enhanced similarly to the base game, with additions such as Watermelons and Buoyant Blocks. New furniture, glowing coral, and more grant distinctiveness.
Part 2 of the Expansion Pass will add wearable accessories in late 2026. There will not be a new town.
Pokémon Pokopia features a customizable Pokémon locale. Trainers can befriend Pokémon to learn new moves, which can then be used to help shape environments that draw in different species.
The game features crafting, farming, and town-building elements, enabling players to collect materials, construct furniture, cultivate vegetables, and design homes. A real-time day-night cycle, dynamic weather, and in-game biomes are also available. Plus, the game features various bits of lore about the world as humanity was about to flee it, instilling a unique identity not seen elsewhere in this franchise.
Pokémon Pokopia is available on Switch 2.
