Pokémon Legends: Arceus Shares New Trailer Teasing Final Starter Evolutions

Nintendo has shared a new teaser trailer for the soon-to-be-released Pokémon Legends: Arceus, highlighting the final evolutions for each of the starter Pokémon. Of course, it goes without saying that you shouldn’t view the following trailer if you wish to avoid spoilers.

However, it is worth noting that despite each of the starters originating from differing generations, they do have their own historical evolutions in the context of the Hisui regions. Players will get to view old Pokémon in fresh ways, though their designs will undoubtedly be contentious.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is releasing for Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.

Between its reveals and the fresh new components of the battle system, some bold steps are being transparently taken here. While I wasn’t sold on this title during its initial reveal, this newly revealed footage is undoubtedly amping up the hype.

The sheer premise of a Pokémon title being set this far in the past is enticing enough, and I hope that the game’s execution embraces its contextual strengths well. Based on its trailers, that certainly seems to be the case, but we will merely have to wait and see how every game design aspect coalesces.
