Nintendo has shared a new 1-minute trailer for the soon-to-be-released Pokémon Legends: Arceus, highlighting the game’s wondrous world and snippets of the adventures prospective players can have in the ancient Hisui region. Several Pokémon, both friendly and antagonistic, are depicted, alongside fresh navigation utilizing various Pokémon mounts. In addition, the world houses various distinct biomes, from harsh tundra to warm, welcoming fields.

Between its reveals and the fresh new components of the battle system, some bold steps are being transparently taken here. While I wasn’t sold on this title during its initial reveal, this newly revealed footage is undoubtedly amping up the hype.
The sheer premise of a Pokémon title being set this far in the past is enticing enough, and I hope that the game’s execution embraces its contextual strengths well. Based on its trailers, that certainly seems to be the case, but we will merely have to wait and see how every game design aspect coalesces.
