Nintendo has shared a new 6-minute overview trailer for the soon-to-be-released Pokémon Legends: Arceus, providing information regarding the title’s general gameplay loop and mechanical details. Several Pokémon, both friendly and antagonistic, are depicted, alongside fresh navigation utilizing various Pokémon mounts.

In addition, the world houses various distinct biomes, from harsh tundra to warm, welcoming fields. The hub village, crafting, and more facets are highlighted to give prospective players further reasons to try out this fresh new adventure.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is released for Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.

Between its reveals and the fresh new components of the battle system, some bold steps are being transparently taken here. While I wasn’t sold on this title during its initial reveal, this newly revealed footage is undoubtedly amping up the hype.

The sheer premise of a Pokémon title being set this far in the past is enticing enough, and I hope that the game’s execution embraces its contextual strengths well. Based on its trailers, that certainly seems to be the case, but we will merely have to wait and see how every game design aspect coalesces.
