PlayStation Stars Loyalty Program & Digital Collectibles Announced; Not NFTs
Sony has announced a new loyalty program for PlayStation users, PlayStation Stars. This is set to be a free program starting at an unknown date later this year, where members will earn rewards for completing various activities, ranging from achieving trophies to simply playing games. Winning tournaments and being the first to earn a Platinum Trophy in your region will grant grander rewards.
Every PlayStation member can gain loyalty points, with PlayStation Plus subscribers automatically earning additional points. This currency will be used to add funds to one’s PSN wallet and even get select PlayStation Store products.
Digital Collectibles will be another type of reward, aiming to celebrate several of PlayStation’s storied franchises and overall history. Figurines are explicitly stated as one avenue of this upcoming effort, though these will all solely be for fun. The company also clarified that these are not NFTs and that none of these projects are meant to be seen as a competitor to Microsoft’s Game Pass.

God of War Ragnarök is releasing for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9, 2022.
