Playism Announces Publishing of Roguelite Deduction Game ‘Invitation from the Detective Grim Reaper’ for PC
Playism has announced they will publish the roguelite deduction game by solo developer SHIZU KANO UMI, Invitation from the Detective Grim Reaper.
Throughout this title, players control the detective grim reaper, solving randomly generated murder cases with the intent of executing the culprits. The suspects’ testimonies are all you’ll have, so you must deduce the culprit’s lies from them. Cards making the processes easier can be obtained, too, such as getting new testimonies. Still, knowing the best times to use them is paramount, as wasting too soon can leave you high and dry for more challenging cases.
The developer shared the following message:
“Hello, this is the development studio SHIZU KANO UMI.
This game blends the features of several genres—deduction games, logic puzzles, roguelikes, and card games, which resulted in this weird little hybrid game. Thinking back on it now, I feel like I might’ve gone a little bit overboard with all the different features… (laughs)
I worked especially hard on the game system and the pixel graphics!
I know this is a title that if you like it, you’ll fall for it completely. Actually, I think players should come over and throw themselves in to get a taste of the game!”
