PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile Having Collaboration with Higurashi When They Cry
In perhaps one of the wildest crossovers in gaming history, the Japanese account for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile has announced that the title will be having a special collaboration with Higurashi When They Cry. Yes, you read that correctly. I legitimately thought it was a meme when I first saw it.
From September 30 to October 14, voice cards of Keiichi Maebara, Ryugu Rena, and Satoko Hojo from Higurashi When They Cry will be available. In addition, several Twitter-related campaigns for this collaboration will also be held over the month, including Amazon gift card giveaways.
You can read more information regarding this absolutely unexpected collaboration on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile Japan’s official website. I honestly know almost nothing about PUBG, so you can read more on the site to get detailed information on whatever the hell is going on here.
You can view the special video trailer highlighting this announcement below. As a note, this collaboration specifically acknowledges the recent TV anime adaption of Higurashi When They Cry and not the source material or the like. Regardless, I don’t think anyone can say they expected this to happen on their 2021 bingo card.
The only occurrence that can make this collaboration even wilder is if it somehow made its way to the western versions of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile. That surely can’t happen…right?
