Platinum Games Launches Teaser Website for “Platinum4”

Platinum Games, known for titles such as Wonderful 101, Nier: Automata, and the canceled Microsoft exclusive Scalebound, yea, that one still hurts, launched a teaser website today revealing a “4.”

Without many details to go on, all fans are left with is the sentence “#Platinum4 site is now open.” However, not much else is share. What this means is that fans can do nothing but guess what the studio has in mind, so that’s what we are going to do.

It’s up in the air if this is Wonderful 101 related, but there has been some interest in bringing the game to Nintendo Switch. Also, let’s not forget about the Metroid series, which Platinum Games might bring a nicely need a dose of action to shake that series up.

However, to be honest, I would hope that the developer begins work on their own IP. The studio is interested in self-publishing, which is a move that many other Japanese developers are doing, including Cyberconnect2 and Inti Creates. It’d be interesting to see what comes from this “4” tease because we can expect a layer of quality from the team. Still, we’ve burned by them before; I’m looking at you Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.

Anyway, we’ll keep you updated.
