Puzzle Platformer ‘Planet of Lana’ Delayed to Spring 2023 Release Window; Beautiful New Gameplay Trailer Streamed

Thunderful Publishing released a new trailer for the Wishfully Studios-developed puzzle adventure, Planet of Lana, revealing that the game will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC-via Steam in Spring 2023. The game was previously scheduled for a 2022 release, the extra time was given to “fulfill the ambitious potential Thunderful and Wishfully believe this cinematic puzzle adventure has.”

“We’re sorry that completing development on Planet of Lana will take longer than initially expected, but we promise it will be worth the wait,” said Wishfully director Adam Stjärnljus. “Planet of Lana has been a passion project for us for a long time, so we want to ensure that when it’s finally available that people are getting it in pristine condition. Plus, Game Pass users will get to play it on launch day, which is exciting to us as it means we get to share it with as wide a fanbase as possible!”

There will be a playable demo at Gamescom 2022, but the developer decided to share a first-look trailer with some new gameplay.

Planet of Lana tells the story of Lana and her loyal companion, Mui, as they embark on a mission to save her sister on an alien planet. A stunning world made with hand-drawn artwork, parallax layering, and subtle use of 3D graphics awaits as you experience the story. Platform, solve puzzles, stealth, and a companion mechanic all tie together to craft unique storytelling and gameplay experiences.
