Versus Evil announced that the Obsidian Entertainment developed RPG adventure Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will receive its first major DLC expansion, “Beast of Winter“, on August 2.
Beast of Winter takes the player on an all-new adventure which finds the Watcher and his crew heading to the southernmost harbinger of the Deadfire Archipelago. During the story, the Watcher is the harbinger of the end of all things and worshipers of the god of cold and decay, Rymrgand, have called upon the Watcher to fulfill their destiny.
If these terms don’t make sense to you then you probably haven’t played the base game, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, Fig with was crowdfunded using in January 2017. The game features a story-driven adventure with branching paths and large-scale battles that only Obsidian can create.
Additional updates include the 2.0 patch that will be free to all players alongside their free “Deck of Many Things” DLC pack. The patch will contain bug fixes and balance improvements as well as new challenge modes. These new modes will have the player go through the game in unique ways that may take them out of their comfort zone.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is available now on PC, Linux, and MacOS, with a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC version currently in development.
