Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition Heads to Switch Next Month Allowing Players to Bring this Massive RPG on the Go

Versus Evil announced that the Obsidian Entertainment developed massive RPG Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch on August 8 for $49.99.

Nintendo Switch players will now be able to experience the world of Pillars of Eternity which focuses on deep exploration and discovery. The RPG originally received over 70,000 backers when it launched on Kickstarter in 2012 and has since grown to receive multiple expansions and updates.

The Switch version will contain the two-part DLC, The White March: Parts I & II. Also, players will have access to all the major updates that the original PC version had which means a raised level cap, expanded party AI options, and additional difficulty level to adjust the exploration to fit the player’s skill level.

For the Switch port, Steve Escalante, general manager at Versus Evil, mentioned the following: “We are thrilled to be announcing that Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition is launching on Nintendo Switch in August. Our continued partnership with Obsidian reaffirms our combined commitment in delivering one of the best RPG experiences available to Nintendo Switch players.”

Additionally, the publisher released a new trailer of the game to give players an idea of what it looks like running on Switch hardware. This also gives players a nice look at the game’s many environments and possible characters they’ll encounter in their journey.
