Rocket Panda Games announced that their first game will be Phantom Breaker: Omnia, an updated version of Phantom Breaker: Extra, which was released by developer Mages in 2013. The team plans to develop the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam for a 2021 release.
“We are thrilled to bring to the world the definitive version of the Phantom Breaker fighting game, ‘Phantom Breaker: Omnia,’ a game that was nearly lost to the annals of gaming history,” said M. Panda, Executive Panda and Co-Founder of Rocket Panda Games. “As fans of the franchise and video games at large, our mission was not only to port the game to modern consoles but enhanced the experience beyond its original scope—a philosophy we plan to extend to every title that Rocket Panda Games releases in the future.”
Phantom Breaker: Omnia will be the first entry in the series to release in the west since 2013 and includes all of the characters and guest characters from Phantom Breaker: Extra along with two brand new characters who are yet to be revealed. The game has three different fighting styles, Quick, Hard, and Omnia, which changes the character’s speed, power, and mechanics.
The developer has also shared that the game has been completely rebalanced and overhauled with a more accessible button layout. There will also be English and Japanese voice-over options, along with local and online modes.
Limited Run Games will release a physical version on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
