Sega made a couple of Phantasy Star Online 2 announcements this morning by first revealing the MMORPG will launch on PC-via the Microsoft Store on May 27.
“We’re thrilled to announce the long-awaited arrival on PC,” said Fred White, PSO2 TEAM North America’s Head of Marketing. “There’s a loud and passionate PC fanbase who has been patiently waiting for the North American version – we can’t wait to welcome them in. There will be login bonuses waiting for them with more surprises planned in the coming months.”
There is currently no mention of a potential Steam release at this point, but we’ll be sure to keep updated on that.
Additionally, the developer revealed that the Xbox One will launch a Hatsune Miku collaboration. Starting today, players can use Arks Cash Scratch Tickets to get clothing and accessories from Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, as well as Kagamine Rin & Len.
Phantasy Star Online 2 has launched in the west fully localized with English voice over. This version of the game also features the most recent balances and quality-of-life improvements found in the Japanese release. The game is free-to-play and allows players to choose from four races and nine classes to create a character who fits their playstyle. Players will be able to play with friends on both PC and Xbox One for cross-platform play.
