Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Large-Scale Ver.2 Update Releasing June 7; New Story Chapter & Collaborations
During their NGS Headline, developer SEGA revealed the final details about the Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis ver. 2 large-scale update as well as new details regarding upcoming collaborations and Scratch Tickets coming next month. The update will be releasing for PlayStation 4, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, and PC on June 7, 2023.
The first thing that was introduced was the Creative Space, which is a significant evolution from the Personal Quarters of PSO2. Players can edit an entire island that belongs solely to them. Using building materials called Build Parts, which can be modified in both scale and color, players can freely create building interiors and exteriors. Furthermore, the terrain of the island itself can be changed to produce mountains and valleys as well, and players can work together to make huge buildings. There’s also the Connect system, where players can make objects react to one another to create running courses and even mazes.
On June 7, a Build Parts set will be sold at the AC Shop for 580 AC, and includes various resort-themed items such as pools and parasols! Furthermore, a collaboration pack with costumes of Sega’s popular Sonic characters and themed Build Parts for the Creative Space will also be available at various stores and at the in-game AC Shop for 990 AC. This pack includes a 15-day Premium Set ticket and other consumable items.
The next thing is about the Main Story. Chapter 6, Part 1, will be available on June 7, alongside the Ver.2 update. After the battle on Leciel, Zephetto has revealed a number of truths to everyone. A new threat has emerged as well. In response, Crawford begins discussing countermeasures with leaders from each region. The protagonist and Aina will be given new missions to prepare for the next battle. If you need to catch up with the story, the overall difficulty of all story quests has been reduced greatly, and you no longer need to be at a certain Battle Power to accept Main Quests.
Next up, we have a brand-new type of enemy, the Starless. These are enemies capable of enhancing others around them. They’ll be available in the new High-Level Combat Sectors which feature LV 70 enemies or higher. These enemies are capable of dropping the brand-new 9★ Tisah weapon series. In addition, a Giga Strugment Exchange will open.
Several new Scratch Tickets will also be releasing throughout the month of June, such as the Refined Form June ’23 SG Scratch Ticket, which includes several base PSO2 items that have been updated with NGS specs, and Designer Dreams June ’23 AC Scratch Ticket featuring the second batch of items from the PSO2 10th Anniversary Item Design Contest.
But that’s not all, as New Genesis will be collaborating with Kodansha’s Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045! The event will begin on June 28th, and will feature a special Scratch Ticket, featuring outfits inspired on Motoko Kunasagi and Batou! A variety of Emotes, Motion Changes, Mags and Weapon Camos will also be available. Furthermore, a Tribute Login Bonus will give players all sorts of rewards by logging in every day.
