Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Reveals September 2023 Update; New Autumn-Themed Events & Oshi no Ko Collab

During their NGS Headline, developer SEGA revealed the latest details about the September updates that are coming to the Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis game, as well as more details regarding the upcoming collaboration with the Oshi no Ko anime series. Several new Autumn-themed events and scratch tickets will be coming, and the developer has also revealed a few changes that will be coming to the game in future updates.

First up, Autumn ’23 Limited-time Event will begin on September 6th. Autumn leaves will dance across the Aelio Region, and Central City will be transformed into an O-tsukimi, or moon-viewing, theme. By collecting event points, players can exchange for various items with Xitre, the navigator, and obtain rewards such as Stamp STP: Noroshi – Yummy! and items to change the Vital Gauge Design.

Furthermore, the event shop will also contain the new 8-Star Alcinq weapon series, which come pre-enhanced to Level +60, Potential Level 6, and more. If you’re a returner to NGS and need a strong weapon to quickly raise your Battle Power, now’s your chance!

Next up, we have two new AC Scratch Tickets: Moonlight Sanctuary ’23 and Cyber Comfort. The former will be available on September 6th, and will contain several Japanese-inspired outfits, maid dresses, and Haori coats. As for the latter scratch, it will become available from September 20 and onwards, and will have casual overalls, simple sci-fi themed dresses and CAST Parts.

Furthermore, the SG Scratch Ticket Lineup will also be updated in September 13th to include the Suit Jacket, Suit Slacks, Tight Jacket and Suit & Skirt items. These were items that were previously available in the base version of PSO2, but now they have been remade with NGS specs. It should be noted that moving forward, the rule for updating the SG Scratch Ticket lineup will change. Instead of having a complete refresh every six months, prizes will now be removed sequentially, starting with items that have been in the lineup for the longest time.

Next up, starting September 13th, the long-awaited Oshi no Ko collaboration event will finally begin! This collab will include a special login bonus, life-sized panels and poster Build Parts, and the OSHI NO KO Style AC Scratch Ticket. Players will be able to dress up with Ai’s idol costume, as well as Aqua, Ruby and Kana Arima’s Yoto High School uniforms. Furthermore, several Emotes and Stamps can also be obtained.

That’s not all however, as the next collaboration for New Genesis was also announced! In October 2023, there will be a collaboration event with SPRIGGAN, a science fiction anime that was recently aired. The collaboration event will include the Armored Muscle Suit used by the main character, as well as several avatar items modeled after Jean Jacquemonde’s costume. Further details will be revealed at the next NGS Headline, which is set to air on September 26th.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a new MMORPG part of the PSO2 universe but is a brand new adventure offering upgraded visuals and a new narrative, amongst other quality-of-life updates. It is considered a “huge-scale update” to Phantasy Star Online 2. Players will find new game systems created using a new graphics engine. The update was made to celebrate the series’s 2oth anniversary and the tenth anniversary of Phantasy Star Online 2.
