Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Reveals New Slayer Gunblade Class in NGS Headline

In the latest NGS Headline, developer SEGA revealed the latest information regarding the March update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, which includes information about new Scratch Tickets, and a sneak peek at the brand-new Slayer gunblade class, which will be coming in a future update in mid-April.

Spring season has come to Central City, and as such, the entire game hub will be decorated with spring-themed decorations such as cherry blossoms and other related décor. Furthermore, Hululu Rappies and Emperappies will appear on the field. In the Spring ’23 event, players can obtain the new 8-star Trunkul series weapons and co-op Trials with special characters.

Next, two revival AC Scratch Tickets are scheduled to begin today. The first is Rewind Collection 10, which reprints past NGS-spec items. And the second is Early Spring Memories, which includes various clothing for base PSO2 avatars. Each of these items can be sold and obtained at the Personal Shop. Furthermore, a Revival SG Scratch Ticket will be coming, bringing back several hairstyles, accessories, outfits, and more in NGS specs. It is worth noting that this revival banner will not feature a once-per-day free pull.

The AC Scratch Tickets don’t stop there, however. From March 8, players will be able to dress up in style with samurai-themed kimono and sci-fi sorcerer outfits in the Mystic Explorer AC Scratch. After that, from March 22 and onwards, tactical-style uniforms will be available from the Vigilant Recruit Scratch Ticket. Both scratches also offer several Emotes and Idle Poses.

Lastly, a sneak-peek of a brand-new class coming to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis was teased. The new class, titled Slayer, will be added to the Class roster, and in anticipation of that, Limited-Time Tasks will be available to obtain Slayer Operation Prep Tickets, which can be used to exchange for Gunblade weapons. The new Slayer class is scheduled to come in a mid-April update, with more details to be revealed soon.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a new MMORPG part of the PSO2 universe but is a brand new adventure offering upgraded visuals and a new narrative, amongst other quality-of-life updates. It is considered a “huge-scale update” to Phantasy Star Online 2. Players will find new game systems created using a new graphics engine. The update was made to celebrate the series’s 2oth anniversary and the tenth anniversary of Phantasy Star Online 2. 

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available now on Xbox One and PC as a free-to-play game. It will be available on PlayStation 4 on August 31, 2022.
