With Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis‘s release approaching, SEGA hosted a Livestream to discuss game info. Following the Livestream, players gained access to the Character Creation tool, which comes with a benchmark test, allowing you to test if your PC is capable of running at your desired setting.
In a previous Livestream, the developers commented on how the Character Creation tool will allow players to spend all the time they need on creating their character so they can be ready to just start the game with their desired character immediately.
The benchmark tool will play a full-motion video from the game’s opening and give a score out at the end as any benchmark tool does. However, the developers affirm that the score that players obtain using the benchmark tool isn’t indicative of the actual performance you’ll have in-game and that you shouldn’t be discouraged to try out in case the benchmark score is lower than you might expect.
As for the Character Creation, the same settings from the Closed Beta are available here. Choose a Race, and then tweak the provided model to your heart’s content. The tool also allows you to test how your character model will behave under certain light conditions. Once you’re finished, you can save that character data to your PC so New Genesis can simply read it upon starting the full version after it is released later this year.
