Phantasy Star Online 2 Gets New Details on Open Beta for Xbox One

Earlier today, Sega announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 will receive an Open Beta for Xbox One users beginning on March 17. Now, the developer has provided new details on what the Open Beta will include.

Beginning on March 16 at 10 am PT, players can begin downloading the Open Beta on their Xbox One to play on March 17, 5 pm PT. During the open, players can join a mission with up to eleven other players at a time to experience the online game and take on bosses.

“The team has been working incredibly hard towards this day, and we couldn’t be more excited to open the servers and welcome our amazing community into the world of Phantasy Star Online 2,” shared Fred White, PSO2 Team North America’s Head of Marketing. “From the beginning, the game will include Episodes 1-3, representing over three years’ worth of expanded content updates from the start. We look forward to seeing the players in-game on Tuesday!”

The Open Beta will also feature fully localized text and English voice audio. First-time players will also receive a variety of weapons, including swords, assault rifles, rods, and gunblades, along with consumable items to get started. The demo build will include the most up-to-date balancing and quality of life updates that have been applied to the Japanese version of the game.

Additionally, outside of missions, players can play some of the Casino mini-games or attend a Live Stage Event.
