Sega announced that Episode 4 content update for their MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 is scheduled to launch in August on Xbox One and PC-via the Microsoft Store.
“The game’s first major content update, Episode 4, is coming this summer, and we’re super excited to continue growing along with our player community,” said Fred White, PSO2 TEAM North America’s Head of Marketing. “Episode 4 takes place several years after the end of Episodes 1-3, which are included in the base game of Phantasy Star Online 2. This is the first of more content updates to come in the future.”
During Phantasy Star Online 2, players awaken from a long sleep, and they find out that an enemy known as The Phantom has appeared, who are essentially fake ARKS members. If that wasn’t hard enough to wake up to, the dimension of Earth has been discovered.
The real ARK members will now be able to unlock a new level cap and explore new locations, Tokyo, and Las Vegas as they continue their adventure to solve the mystery of the black shadow and purge the planet of these fierce enemies.
Phantasy Star Online 2 has launched in the west fully localized with English voice over. This version of the game also features the most recent balances and quality-of-life improvements found in the Japanese release. The game is free-to-play and allows players to choose from four races and nine classes to create a character who fits their playstyle. Players will be able to play with friends on both PC and Xbox One for cross-platform play.
