During Microsoft’s E3 2019 Briefing, Sega took the spotlight to announce that they will launch the free-to-play action MMORPG Phantasy Star Online 2 coming to Xbox One and Windows PC in 2020. At this time, the title is only confirmed for North America.
Phantasy Star Online 2 has never been released in the west and has been widely requested by fans since it launched in Japan on July 4, 2012. After dodging an alleged PlayStation Vita release in the west that was announced in 2013, the MMORPG will release on Xbox One and PC in Spring 2020.
The game allows players to create and customize their character class with a variety of different options; things like class and race are also available to players. The gameplay is action-oriented with a variety of different actions to the player. Mission structure has players exploring vast environments with a party of others as they take on large-scale battles along with their Mag (a small droid that follows the player) that can be fed items and customized with skills which can help you in battle.
More information will come for Phantasy Star Online 2, such as what servers western players will be able to play on and what expansions will be available to players when the game officially launches in the west. It’s true that we are pretty far behind by this point.
