Persona Series Sells Over 1.3 Million Units Worldwide Between April 2021 & March 2022

Sega Sammy has released their financial results for the fiscal year lasting between April 2021 through March 2022. Throughout this time frame, the Persona series has been stated to have sold over 1.3 million units worldwide (referenced on page 20). Approximately 400,000 units were sold for the first quarter of the fiscal year, with 300,000 units for the second and third quarters. Lastly, the final quarter of the fiscal saw roughly 100,000 units sold for the series.

Congratulations to the development teams and Atlus for achieving such significant collective milestones, and here’s to further franchise success. While not Persona-related, the Megami Tensei offshoot Soul Hackers 2 is releasing later this year.

In case you missed it, check out our review for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

This title takes place after the ending of the original Persona 4, featuring elements from Persona 4 Golden, such as the character Marie. This game is a 2D fighter developed by Arc System Works, most prominently known for Blazblue and the recently released Guilty Gear Strive.

This re-release includes all of the content contained in the original Ultimax release and the story of the first Arena game. Further, Japanese and English dual audio options are present. Also notable is that this release boasts rollback netcode on all platforms except for Nintendo Switch.
