Throughout Persona 3, the protagonist and the rest of the party, known as SEES, operate together to rid the world of the Dark Hour, a hidden passage of time occurring at midnight. This was also the first game of the series to have Social Links.
Throughout Persona 4, the protagonist and the rest of the party, known as the Investigation Team, unite to catch a serial killer throwing their victims into a bizarre world accessible within televisions.
