Persona 5 Series Sells Over 9 Million Units Worldwide

Sega has announced that the Persona 5 subseries has sold over nine million units worldwide, including the original Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight, and Persona 5 Strikers. Further, these sales numbers reflect both physical and digital worldwide shipments.

Additionally, when considering how the Persona franchise has sold roughly around 17.7 million units worldwide, Persona 5 accounts for more than half of the series’ overall series. It really set the games on the map far more than some may have realized.

Persona 5 Tactica will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on November 17, 2023.

A DLC scenario titled Repaint Your Heart was also confirmed, automatically obtained by purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition. It will launch at the same time as the base game.

The game is a new genre venture for the series, a tactical experience set in a new setting with a familiar cast, albeit with some new characters like Erina. The presentation is highly similar to the Persona Q games on 3DS. In this story, the Phantom Thieves find themselves battling the Legionnaires, a military group causing its citizens to live under tyrannical oppression.
