Persona 5 Royal Releases in Australia Early, Likely Due to Coronavirus Outbreak
Australians might be feeling the burn so far, with the state and federal governments arguing over how they will handle the outbreak of COVID-19. However, those with the time and money will be able to head on down to EB games to pick up a launch edition of Atlus’ new title, Persona 5 Royal, five days before the original release date of March 31.
While there hasn’t been an official statement as to why the game has released early, it is speculated that it has something to do with the ambiguity of how long stores will be able to stay open during the current pandemic.

It will be noted that this doesn’t seem to include pre-orders for the deluxe edition but does include pre-orders for the launch edition with the fancy Steelbook that has my boy Goro Akechi on it.
Persona 5 tells the story of a group of high school students who will steal your heart. Throughout the game, the students discover a world where people aren’t entirely themselves, and it’s up to the Phantom Thieves to put a stop to it. The game features turn-based combat as well as dungeon exploration, all while having to manage the daily lives of these teens. Persona 5 Royal is an updated re-release with a whole new third semester, new challenges, new characters and is an utter masterpiece, check out our review here.
Too bad, you’ve still gotta wait for the official launch date to get those character themes. The one for Takuto Maruki is really cool.
