Persona 5 Royal DLC Now Free on PS4; Base & Deluxe Editions Delisted
In a rather sudden and bizarre move, Atlus has officially made a notable change to Persona 5 Royal on the PlayStation Store. Now, those who wish to obtain the title on PS4 can get the Ultimate Edition, which includes all of the available DLC at the total suggested price of US$59,99.
Furthermore, due to this change, both the base and Deluxe editions of Royal have been delisted as of now, and previous owners of the aforementioned versions can now download all of the DLC packages at no added cost.
This is definitely a welcome change because while the subsequent multi-platform release on PS5, XBOX, PC, and Nintendo Switch did come with the DLC included, PS4 owners of Royal had only access to some of the DLC, with special content such as the special Battle Bundle pack, as well as the Royal DLC pack being locked with separate purchases. Atlus, at the time, did state that PS4 owners would not be capable of upgrading freely to the PS5 port.
Persona 5 Royal is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Windows and Steam on October 21, 2022. There is no planned upgrade path to PlayStation 5 for PlayStation 4 users, although you can obtain all of the DLC for free as of April 9, 2023.
Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden cost $19.99 each and include French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese language support. Improvements and greater quality of life have also been implemented, like quick saving, customizable difficulty at any time, and in Persona 4 Golden’s case, the ability to view previous Social Link events and choose different options.
Throughout Persona 3, the protagonist and the rest of the party, known as SEES, operate together to rid the world of the Dark Hour, a hidden passage of time occurring at midnight. This was also the first game of the series to have Social Links.
Throughout Persona 4, the protagonist and the rest of the party, known as the Investigation Team, unite to catch a serial killer throwing their victims into a bizarre world accessible within televisions.
Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Windows and Steam.
