Persona 5 R Has Been Confirmed Officially for PlayStation 4

Atlus launched a short teaser trailer for an upcoming version of their 2016 RPG Persona 5 titled Persona 5 R.

However, the teaser trailer only shows a new date of “March 2019” so players can expect to know when to get more information. What’s surprising is that the trailer begins with a PlayStation 4 logo and nothing more. It seems that fans of the series were expecting the game to make its way on the Nintendo Switch since Joker had been confirmed as playable character in Super Smash Ultimate.

What fans can expect from Persona 5 R is an updated version of the already lengthy life-sim RPG. This isn’t outside of the wheelhouse of the developer who has re-released many of their games with updated versions in the past, such as, Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden. Persona 5 R will most likely have new quests, dungeons, perhaps even a different protagonist as well as additional party members, pretty much anything can happen. However, I’m sure most people just want the game to come to other consoles.

Persona 5 is available now on PlayStation 4.

You can watch the teaser trailer below and expect to hear more in March:

Author’s take: I half expected this and it’s interesting enough because hey, I bought the other updated titles so why shouldn’t I buy this one?
