Persona 3 Reload Announces New Battle Mechanic, Theurgy

During the latest information drop for Persona 3 Reload, Atlus announced a new battle mechanic called Theurgy. This is essentially a special skill that has its own gauge. When filled up, it allows characters to initiate powerful abilities. It also seems to be usable via the right trigger on controllers.

You can view a brief explanation of Theurgia below, translated via our team’s Ryuji:

In Persona 3 Reload, characters can use a special skill called Theurgia.

Theurgy can be activated when the Theurgy Gauge has been filled up, allowing players to unleash a powerful skill against enemies.

[In the example screenshot, Atlus shows Junpei’s Theurgia, and the description says, “Deals great Slash damage to one enemy, ignoring their resistances.”]

The Theurgy Gauge is filled up during battle by attacking or activating skills. Activating the gauge will give you a massive advantage in combat, so make sure to use it when the moment is right.
