[UPDATES] Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden & Persona 5 Royal Confirmed for PC, PS, & Xbox One & Series X|S

During today’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal were confirmed to be arriving on Xbox consoles, Game Pass, and Windows PC. PlayStation 5 and Steam versions were also confirmed via a new Atlus press release. Thanks to Play Magazine for the heads up.

Persona 5 Royal will release on October 21, 2022. This version of the game will include all previously released DLC in the base game.

The other titles do not have a release date at this time.

Persona 3 Portable is of note as it is currently a PSP title and is currently not available on the PlayStation consoles. The game was released in 2010, but this version will feature enhanced graphics and will also be available with French, Italian, German, and Spanish text for the first time.

Persona 4 Golden will feature text in French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

UPDATE 6/14/2022: The official website has been updated, stating that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are arriving on PS4 and not PS5.

To clear up potential confusion, the listed platforms for each title are below. Persona 4 Golden’s Steam port is not listed, likely since this graphic is solely showing new ports. The very bottom of the page clarifies that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden are only receiving digital versions.

Moreover, the site also implies that Persona 5 Royal will be releasing on all of the forthcoming mentioned platforms on October 21, 2022.

UPDATE 7/20/2022: Atlus has confirmed via a Q&A page that there will be no upgrade for PlayStation 4 owners of Persona 5 Royal to PlayStation 5.

Q. I already own the PS4 version of P5 Royal. Will I be able to upgrade to the PS5 version?

A. Apologies, but we have no plans to be offering a free upgrade for owners of the PS4 version. We apologize for the inconvenience, but in order to play the PS5 version, you must repurchase the title.
