Let’s be honest; Coronavirus has taken a lot from us in 2020, some more than others. This sad excuse for a year was also the launch year for next-generation consoles and new graphics cards for gaming nerds. However, even those releases were staggered by the effect that the virus had on us globally.
One significant event missed was physical gaming events. The place where us nerds can get together and hang out to talk about like-minded waifus and our favorite Mobile Suit. Well, it seems 2021 might give us those back with PAX releasing a statement that they plan to host the event live with the support and guidance of local governments and health officials.
The event will be healed on the following dates:
- PAX East: June 3 through June 6 – Boston, MA
- PAX West 2021: September 3 through September 6 – Seattle, WA
- PAX Unplugged: December 10 through December 12 – Philadelphia, Penn
“While we look forward to hosting shows in 2021, we are first and foremost members of the local communities in Boston, Philadelphia, and Seattle, where we call home,” said Kyle Marsden-Kish, PAX Event Director. “We care deeply for the health and safety of our amazing attendees and industry partners who have brought PAX to life for 17 years. We are cautiously optimistic about improvements in the global COVID-19 situation next year. Still, we are carefully monitoring the situation to make sure PAX only proceeds if deemed safe to do so.”
The sale of badges will be announced at a later date. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
