Path of Exile Launches First Expansion of 2019 ‘Synthesis’ on Xbox One and PC

Grinding Gear Games announced that Path of Exile will receive its first expansion of 2019, Synthesis, later today for Xbox One and PC. The PlayStation 4 release of the game will come later in March.

Playable at 12pm PST, Path of Exile’s newest expansion brings forth new features including new areas, challenges, and an NPC named Cavas who players must help recover his lost memories.

During Path of Exile: Synthesis, players will encounter Cavas on their journey. Evidentally, in order to recover his lost memories, players will need to fight through them as they chain the memories together. During these quests, players will be provided with valuable rewards and new crafting opportunities. Additionally, players will encounter a few new boss fights, but there are two new spellcasting archetypes to help out with these bosses: Holy and Chaos casters who use spells such as Divine Ire, Purifying Flame, Wave of Conviction and Soulrend.

“We expect that 2019 will be the biggest year in Path of Exile history, starting with the launch of Synthesis in March,” commented Chris Wilson, managing director of Grinding Gear Games. “More exciting news is coming soon including details about the inaugural ExileCon convention this November!”

There are also a number of additional updates in the game including balancing and changes made to the end-game chart Atlas of Worlds.
