Overkill Revealed as Alternative Perspective of the Dungeon&Fighter Franchise

Nexon revealed that Neople is currently developing Overkill, a 3D side-scrolling ARPG featuring characters from the Dungeon&Fighter franchise.

The description of the game from the website seems to be incomprehensible, saying,” Hendon Meier and Gran Floris, familiar to the Aradians. Rualua and Unfair at resolution will be the springboard of new adventures. Delilah, Neilbas and Danjin reborn with a new look different from the original! At Overkill Studios, we are developing new experiences that come with familiarity.”

This gives the impression that this title is still early in development. Further, the studio is also hiring new developers to help with the project, so we can assume that we’ll be hearing more about the game at a much later time.

The description from the press release says, “Overkill, a PC-based 3D side-scrolling action RPG Virtual World is being built on Unreal Engine 4 by Neople, a consolidated subsidiary of Nexon. More information on the release schedule and regional availability of Overkill will be announced at a later date.”

So, now we must simply wait.

Currently, Arc Systems Works is developing a fighter based on the Dungeon&FighterThe game very much resembles previous Arc System Works fighters such as Granblue Fantasy Versus but takes on a much darker tone. Additionally, from the teaser reveal trailer, we see that the game is much faster than GBFV, which might excite more hardcore fans.

Dungeon&Fighter is an MMO beat ’em up that launched in 2005 on PC in South Korea. The game made its way to the west in 2010, where it was shut down in 2013, and then received a global release in 2015 with English support. There’s also an anime based on the franchise.
