Outward Gets Trailer Showing RPG Gameplay With PS4, Xbox One, and PC Release Date
Deep Silver revealed they are all set to publish the Nine Dots developed sim RPG adventure Outward, which was revealed nearly 3 years ago. Along with the publishing reveal, the developer released a new trailer announcing that Outward will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 12, 2019.
The trailer gives players a preview of the game’s large environments and RPG elements. Players will be able to set out into the world and fight for survival with the help of magic, but also companions. The game supports split-screen and online co-op modes for players to explore the world together.
In Outward, the players are one who has been chosen by a prophecy, but that doesn’t make you an all-powerful god. Instead, the game quickly lets you know that you are vulnerable in this world and you will need to work towards survival.
Outward features a constant and on-going auto-save feature so whatever the player does is set in stone and there’s no turning back. Also, every playthrough is designed to offer a new experience.
To date, Nine Dots has developed other titles, Brand and GoD Factory. The company states that they wish to drive the industry forward by treating developers like human beings and games like art rather than toys.

Author’s take: Outward looks super ambitious from a small indie team. After reading the team’s About page I have developed a respect for the team who points out problems with the industry and how they want to correct these issues. It’s pretty interesting and it makes me want to see how this attitude translates into their games.
