The game has been in development for seven years by Julian Laufer who fist released the title in October 2019 on PC. More information about the release date is planned to be revealed during the Guerrilla Collective from June 6 through June 8.
Outbuddies DX is set in the depths of the ocean as an archaeologist named Nikolay Bernstein who has woken up in this strange place after a shipwreck. On the verge of dying, he unwillingly connects with a supernatural “Buddy” Unit.
Players will traverse the world in Metroid-like fashion as they do their best to survive. The Buddy unit can also be used to manipulate and scout the surroundings as well as hack elements within the labyrinth. Additionally, there’s a local co-op feature that allows players to use a second player to control Buddy with an expanded toolset.
Outbuddies DX is an updated version of the PC release. This release will have improved visuals and modes based on the feedback from players of the PC release.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on an official console release date.
Outbuddies is available now on PC-via Steam.
