Top-Down Shooter ‘OTXO’ Revealed in Gameplay Trailer; Limited Time PC Demo Available Now
Super Rare Originals announced they will publish the Lateralis-developed top-down shooter OTXO on consoles and PC via Steam.
A demo is available from now until May 9, 2022, on Steam, which features 12 different weapons and ten levels. There are no boss fights, unlockables, or randomization in this demo, though, so it’s mainly just a preview of the experience.
OTXO (pronounced oh-cho) is a one-man-developed action game where players enter a mansion to rescue a loved one. New environments will shape the world throughout the game, but the missions will become more challenging. It’s good that the player has access to a few different weapons.
The game features roguelite elements where players may die, but the skills they gain along the way will make it easier to progress. The shooter utilizes a top-down camera to show all of the action and a greyscaled color scheme that only highlights the carnage.
There’s a special slow-me mechanic called Focus which can be used to take down more formidable enemies. Further, players can unlock new weapons and acquire new abilities from the bartender. The skills are crafted to fit each player’s playstyle. As a result, each playthrough is different, with over 150 crafted rooms that are randomly encountered.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the development and release of OTXO. Knowing Super Rare, a physical release should be on the way for consoles with a Limited Edition available.
