Next Gen Optimized Version of Destiny 2 Launching in December

Developer Bungie has revealed that the next generation version of Destiny 2, dubbed Destiny 2 Beyond Light will be launching on December 8, 2020.

This optimized version of the title will have conducive inclusions that aim to make players’ experiences generally smoother and more enjoyable than they have been in the prior console versions. Field of View customization will be available on consoles for the first time, with the goal being to enable an FOV range similar to what PC players have access to. Loading times are aimed to be improved overall in general instances such as generally loading up the title, and more specific situations like when players are inspecting their inventories.

Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S players can play with Xbox One players, and PlayStation 5 players can play with PlayStation 4 players. There is no cross-play support between Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of this title boast 4k resolution, 60 fps,  field of view slider, faster loading times and a free next generation upgrade. In the case of the next generation Xbox consoles, upgrades will be done via Xbox Smart Delivery.

The Xbox Series S version of the title will have all of the features of the Xbox Series X version of the title, with the sole exception being that the resolution will be at 1080p instead of 4k.
