Ooblets by developer Gumberland showed off a new trailer during the PC Gaming show and was given a general release date. In the trailer, viewers got a look at some characters dancing, singing, and causing mild destruction. Also, some additional harvest simulation, house designing, and fishing gameplay were also revealed.
This zany looking title has been in production for several years now but is finally announced to release in Early Access on Steam this summer. No exact date has been given, just the season and the statement “so soon!”.
Previous trailers have highlighted more of the simulation aspects of Ooblets, but this trailer focused a bit more on the overall vibe of the game. While the trailer didn’t go into any detail, the presenter opened the trailer, describing it as “featuring: creature collection, dance battles and bears wearing pants.” Characters are continuously seen jamming to tunes and are displayed in a colorful cartoony art style. There are even some psychedelic kaleidoscope visuals transitioning scenes.
It does seem the cuteness and quirkiness factor will be a considerable part of the game and remains to be seen how that gels with the overall sim aspects of gameplay. Hopefully, more details will be released shortly with this quickly approaching release date.
