Tokyo RPG Factory Developed ‘Oninaki’ Gets a August Release Date

During Square Enix’s E3 2019 Press Conference, the publisher revealed that the Tokyo RPG Factory developed Oninaki is releasing on August 22 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC-via Steam.

There was also a new trailer released as well.  The trailer showed the game’s diverse cast of characters, including the main character, Kagachi, in-game dialogue, the real-time action-RPG combat system, and much more.

In the game, players will take on the role of Kagachi who must complete his job as a watcher and usher Lost Souls to the next world. This will require him to bond with and harness the power of Daemons, a special type of Lost Soul who could not be reincarnated. Daemons are powerful and will be needed to assist Kagachi in battle. Each Daemon represents a different weapon type with its own unique skills that can be switched between in real-time to deal devastating blows to enemies.

Oninaki is developed by the same team who worked on I Am Setsuna, a turn-based RPG that mimics classic genre entries. However, the team’s upcoming title will focus on a more action-centric battle system.
