Too Dark Studios has released an updated demo for Onikura, now available on PC via Steam, alongside a re-release of the game’s store page for the Asia region. The demo update is live now, with the full game still listed as coming soon and no release date announced.
The Asia region re-release opens access for players across multiple territories that previously couldn’t download or follow the game on Steam. According to the developer, this step is part of broader preparation for upcoming milestones, as the team continues active development.
Alongside the regional update, the demo has received full language support for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese. Too Dark Studios is actively asking players to report localization issues or awkward lines, with feedback intended to improve future builds.
For those just checking it out, Onikura is a 2D platformer built around a boss-rush structure. Each encounter focuses on tight timing and aggressive combat, with parries, slashes, heals, and special attacks playing a central role. Progression revolves around talismans and upgrades that significantly change how each fight plays out, allowing players to adjust their approach rather than follow a single fixed style.
The game’s arenas are designed specifically for individual bosses, pairing handcrafted visuals and music with difficult, high-pressure encounters. Story elements center on battling Oni and sealing their souls, though combat and mechanical depth remain the main focus of the experience.
