D3 Publisher announced they will launch their hack ‘n slash adventure game Onee Chanbara Origin digitally on PlayStation 4 and PC-via Steam on October 14.
Onee Chanbara Origin is a full remake of the first entry of the game with a new art style and optimized storytelling as it combines both “The Onechanbara” and “The Onechanbara 2” games, which were originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004 and 2005. The new character designs were made by designer Katsumi Enami, who worked on the first entry.
Onee Chanbara Origin tells the story of two half-sisters, Aya and Saki, who fight to take down a zombie threat. The second entry continues this adventure and with updated systems and fighting styles as the story evolves and connects their fate in this demonic nightmare.
During fights, players will hack n’ slash through zombie enemies. The more they do, the more blood the characters are covered in, which causes them to transform into demons themselves and rip through everything in their way. Each character has their own moveset and abilities.
Onee Chanbara Origin will feature full English voice-acting as well as Japanese audio or the characters.
Currently, it doesn’t seem like anything will be changed or altered for the western release.
