Mobile Card-Based RPG ‘One-Punch Man: Road to Hero’ Out Now

Publisher Oasis Games has announced the western launch of the mobile RPG based on the popular One-Punch Man IP, One-Punch Man: Road to Hero — out now on iOS and launching soon on Android.

Produced in collaboration with the original author ONE and illustrator Yusuke Murata, One-Punch Man: Road to Hero is a turn-based mobile RPG with plenty of cards and quick yet tactical combat. The game follows the plot of the original series and includes nearly every character, all voiced by the original anime actors. Additional content from the second season is slated to come after launch.

Prior to launch, One-Punch Man: Road to Hero attracted over 200,000 pre-registered players, and it’s the first officially licensed mobile game of the renowned One-Punch Man IP for the west. Those worried that the game will not follow what One-Punch Man has been known for having nothing to fear as One-Punch Man: Road to Hero faithfully reproduces the anime’s storyline, worldview, and character design.

In the game, players collect and train characters and experience the power of the mighty heroes from the series. As players progress throughout the game, they can join Saitama in knocking out opponents, meeting other heroes, spending time in the hot spring, shopping in the supermarket, and jumping into the many special events waiting to be triggered.

Sadly, Saitama isn’t a playable character, but players can ask him for help, which is pretty cool. That said, Jinyang Xu, Producer of One-Punch Man: Road to Hero at Oasis Games, shared why that decision was made for the game: “One-Punch Man: Road to Hero was created so loyal fans and players can battle, train, and collect characters on their own hero’s journey. With Saitama as an ally, build the ultimate fighting team with complementary skills and prepare to immerse yourself in a fantastic combat experience with exciting storylines!”

With dozens of chapters, over 50 characters to collect, train, and play as, monsters to fight, multiple battle modes, and of course, S-Class heroes, One-Punch Man: Road to Hero can’t be finished in just one punch — you’re going to need to build one mighty, winning team to be the best of the best.
