OMORI Devs Plan Livestream Fundraiser With Profits Going Towards Stop AAPI Hate
Developer OMOCAT released OMORI on PC-via Steam last December after a few years of development. The game has done fairly well amongst fans, and even our own review praises the narrative and gameplay systems.
The developer is now planning a fundraiser Livestream on June 6 from 1 pm – 6 pm PST via Tiltify, where all profits will go towards Stop AAPI Hate. The stream will be OMORI-themed and hosted by one of the game’s musicians, bo en, who will be streaming from his YouTube channel. Further, the OMORI development team will be in the chat answering questions about the game for viewers.
OMOCAT is comprised of developers from different ethnic backgrounds, but many are of Asian descent; in a statement, they add that they “feel very strongly about this cause. Our current goal for the fundraiser is $50,000, and we would love to reach that goal or maybe even higher!”
They hope to bring awareness to a cause that means most to them and share their game with fans.
