Aksys Games didn’t make fans wait too long into the year 2021 to announce their plans to continue supporting otome visual novel releases in the west. The publisher revealed that they will publish Olympia Soirée, Dairoku: Ayakashimori, and Variable Barricade from developer Idea Factory onto Nintendo Switch.
“The Nintendo Switch is an ideal platform for visual novels,” said Akibo Shieh, founder and CEO of Aksys Games. “So many more people are discovering otome on the Switch, and we are excited to deliver more popular and highly regarded games to English-speaking audiences.”
Olympia Soirée tells the story of Olympia, who wishes to perform a ritual to return light to a darkened world. The setting revolves around a strict class system, which leads her to search for a partner to unify the land.
Dairoku: Ayakashimori is a supernatural otome where Shino has an ability to perceive ghosts, which gets her a job with a government agency tasked with seeking out yokai. However, this may lead her to become closer to them than she could have imagined.
Variable Barricade tells Hibari’s story, whose wealthy grandfather is determined to find her a husband against her will. The story follows how she puts a stop to this matchmaking as she finds her own path to love.
There you have it. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the release of Olympia Soirée, Dairoku: Ayakashimori, and Variable Barricade in the future.
