Some Old Falcom Albums Appear to be Removed from Streaming Services
Developer Nihon Falcom has an appreciative tendency to upload the soundtracks of their video games onto streaming services, such as Spotify and YouTube Music. Additionally, arrangement albums, like the most recently launched Super Ultimate Album for The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki, are also released on those music services.
However, it appears that select older albums were removed from streaming services when 2023 began. Fellow Falcom fan Hugues Johnson contacted me and informed me that the following albums, which were previously available on Spotify Music and Apple Music, are no longer listenable:
- Falcom Special Box ’90
- Falcom Special Box ’91
- Falcom Special Box ’92
- Perfect Collection Ys I
- Perfect Collection Ys II
- Perfect Collection Ys III
Further, several of the Vocal Collection albums also don’t seem to be available anymore. This development is quite unfortunate; the most likely reason for such occurrences likely stems from contract times running out or licensing difficulties. Here’s hoping these albums will be re-added to these services soon.
Though thankfully, the fan-led Falcom Music YouTube channel hosted by jdkluv/Josep does contain each of the albums I listed above. So fans are still able to utilize this resource.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is now available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is releasing for Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam at the following times:
- March 14, 2023 – North America
- March 17, 2023 – Europe
- March 24, 2023 – Australia, New Zealand

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will launch for PlayStation 5 on May 9, 2023, in North America and on May 12, 2023, in Europe. The title is currently available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This incoming version will include all DLC with enhanced performance.
Ys: The Oath in Felghana Memoire will launch for Nintendo Switch in Japan in Spring 2023.
